Qaddafi Threatens to Tell grave Secret about Sarkozy

English : Machahir123 - Qaddafi threatens to reveal a "grave secret" about French President Sarkozy's campaign financing: Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi threatened, on Thursday, to expose what he called "a big secret" about French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
Following France's declaration that it recognizes the government of Libyan rebels "as the sole representatives of the Libyan people", Libya's official news agency said it had received information about Sarkozy's campaign financing that could bring the French government down and put Sarkozy on trial.

Libya : France recognises libya's rebels as goverment
English: Machahir123 - Europe appears to be slowly reaching common positions on Libya. After France’s top diplomat said Paris and Berlin want the 27 EU states to talk to the people newly in charge in Benghazi, to punctuate a farewell to Colonel Gaddafi, Portugal’s foreign minister, at a meeting in Brussels, underscored this.
Luis Amado said: “The Gaddafi regime is finished, no longer legitimate. Dialogue must begin with the opposition in Tripoli, to obtain a cease-fire as quickly as possible.”
Germany wants Gaddafi gone yet Berlin will only support diplomatic methods to help resolve Libya problems. Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle said: “We don’t want to get sucked into a war in North Africa.”
The EU is debating what resources and means to apply in the region. Catherine Ashton, who will attend an Arab League meeting next week, said: “It is very important in anything we do to be clear about what action we take and why, who is best-placed to do what, but to keep the pressure on.”
The European Parliament has asked that the EU make contact with the Libyan Transitional Council with a view to official recognition.

English : Machahir123 - Saudi police opened fire Thursday to disperse a protest in the mainly Shiite east, leaving at least one man injured, as the government struggled to prevent a wave of unrest sweeping the Arab world from reaching the kingdom.
The rare violence raised concern about a crackdown ahead of more planned protests after Friday prayers in different cities throughout the oil-rich kingdom. The pro-Western monarchy is concerned protests could open footholds for Shiite powerhouse Iran and has accused foreigners of stoking the protests, which are officially forbidden.
Despite the ban and a warning that security forces will act against them, protesters demanding the release of political prisoners took to the streets for a second day in the eastern city of Qatif. Several hundred protesters, some wearing face masks to avoid being identified, marched after dark asking for "Freedom for prisoners."
Police, who were lined up opposite the protesters, fired percussion bombs, followed by gunfire, causing the crowd to scatter, a witness said, speaking on condition of anonymity for fear of government retaliation.
The witness said at least 3 or 4 protester was injured and lifted by others to a car for treatment. It was not clear how the protester was injured.
