U.S. gives secret backing to Syrian opposition
مشاهير123 - كتبت صحيفة واشنطن بوست في تقرير لها يوم الاثنين18/04/2011 ان وزارة الخارجية الامريكية مولت سرا جماعات معارضة سورية وهو ما كشفت عنه برقيات دبلوماسية سربها موقع ويكيليكس الالكتروني. وذكرت الصحيفة ان البرقيات أظهرت ان الخارجية الامريكية قدمت منذ عام 2006 ما وصل الى ستة ملايين دولار لمجموعة من المنفيين السوريين لتشغيل قناة بردة التلفزيونية الفضائية التي تتخذ من لندن مقرا لها.
وقالت واشنطن بوست ان قناة بردة بدأت البث التلفزيوني في ابريل نيسان عام 2009 وانها صعدت عملياتها لتغطية الاحتجاجات الحاشدة التي بدأت في سوريا الشهر الماضي في اطار حملة طويلة الاجل للاطاحة بالرئيس السوري بشار الاسد.
وذكرت الصحيفة ان الاموال الامريكية بدأت تتدفق على شخصيات معارضة سورية خلال ادارة الرئيس الامريكي السابق جورج بوش بعد تجميد العلاقات السياسية مع دمشق عام 2005 .

The cables show that the State Department has funneled as much as $6 million since 2006 to a group of Syrian exiles to operate a London-based satellite channel, Barada TV, and finance activities inside Syria, the Post said.
Barada TV began broadcasting in April 2009 but has ramped up operations to cover the mass protests in Syria that began last month as part of a long-standing campaign to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad the Post said.
