مشاهير123 - قامت صحف غربية بنشر ملف فيه صفحات من البريد الإلكتروني للنائبة الأمريكية سارة بالين، منذ أن كانت حاكمة ولاية ألاسكا، وكانت الولاية هي المسؤولة عن خروج أكثر من 24 ألف وثيقة إلى النور بدعوى «حرية نشر المعلومات».
وأدى نشر وثائق البريد الإلكتروني إلى جدل كبير، خاصة بين أوساط المحافظين والجمهوريين، واصفين بعض الصحف ومنها «الجارديان» أنها تمارس حملة للانتقام من عمدة ألاسكا السابقة، والمرشحة المحتملة للرئاسة.
وفي إحدى رسائلها، قالت بالين إنها «تدعو الرب لكي يعينها ويرشدها إلى حل مسألة الميزانية لولاية ألاسكا، فهي لا تعرف ماذا تفعل»، كما أظهرت رسالة أخرى أن بالين كانت تطلب النصيحة من السناتور الجمهوري المتشدد، المرشح للرئاسة أيضا، نيوت جنجريتش، بالإضافة إلى تلقيها عددا من التهديدات بالقتل، ورسائل مسيئة بسبب إعلانها عن نيتها خوض سباق الرئاسة في 2008 مع السناتور جون ماكين، على مقعد نائب الرئيس.

English: Machahir123 - On Friday, the state of Alaska released 24,199 pages of email correspondence from former Gov. Sarah Palin’s time in office. The partially redacted printouts, which were first requested nearly three years ago, are now being digitized and will be available online in a indexed and searchable database.

Research company Crivella West is working in conjunction with msnbc.com, Mother Jones and ProPublica to get the paper documents scanned and put online.

Mother Jones made the first request, in September 2008, for emails sent and received by Sarah Palin during her role as governor of Alaska in September 2011. The final online database will be available soon, but meanwhile, news agencies are working on placing them online.

The state had previously released emails from her office in response to narrow requests – though it had withheld a lot of material under questionable justifications. Still, I was not sure that this request, which covered a lot of records, could be processed before the November election. Other media outfits in subsequent weeks submitted related requests for particular emails, such as all of Palin's emails to and from her husband. But I had been the one to ask for the whole pile.
