Exclusive - Breaking: 5 Dead, 1 Injured in Series of Shootings in Yuma, Arizona, Police Say
Five people are dead and one is injured after a series of shootings in Yuma County, Ariz., Thursday afternoon, local media report.
Yuma police confirmed to QMI Agency they are dealing with a "multiple shooting," but wouldn't elaborate. They said they would release more information shortly.
But the Yuma Sun reports four people were shot dead in the Yuma County countryside, while another was killed in the city of Yuma. A sixth person was airlifted to a Phoenix hospital with a gunshot wound.
Police spokesman Clint Norred told the Yuma Sun the shootings are connected.
Police scanner traffic said the suspect in the shootings took his own life, the newspaper reports, but police wouldn't confirm this.
The Yuma County courthouse and all schools in the area are on lockdown.

Norred says police originally responded to a shooting call around 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
