مشاهير123 - حث إيد ميليباند، زعيم المعارضة العمالية في بريطانية، المسؤوليين بوقف الفرع البريطاني من المجموعة الإعلامية لروبرت ميردوخ، بعد فضيحة التنصت على الاتصالات الهاتفية الذي قامت به إحدى صحفها.

وقال ميليباند لمجلة الأوبزرفر: "أعتقد أن تركز سلطة بهذا الشكل بأيدي شخص واحد أمر غير سليم، ويؤدي إلى تجاوزات للسلطة داخل منظمته"، وأضاف، "أعتقد أنه علينا أن ندرس بدقة الأمر عندما يتمكن شخص من امتلاك أكثر من 20% من سوق الإعلام"، معتبرا أن "هذا النوع من تركز السلطة خطير فعلا".

ومنذ كشف فضيحة صحيفة نيوز أوف ذي وورلد التي يمتلكها ميردوخ، يقود إيد ميليباند الحملة ضد الأسترالي الأمريكي روبرت ميردوخ، مطالبا باستقالة ريبيكا بروكس مديرة الصحف البريطانية في مجموعة ميردوخ.

ووافق ديفيد كاميرون، رئيس الوزراء البريطاني، تحت ضغط ميليباند على تشكيل لجنة للتحقيق.

ويذكر أن ميليباند هو أيضا من تقدم بمذكرة إلى مجلس العموم تطلب من نيوز كورب "مجموعة ميردوخ" بسحب عرضها لشراء قنوات بي-سكاي-بي، نظرا للممارسات التي سجلت داخل صحفه.

Miliband says Murdoch has 'too much power'

English: By Machahir123-- The leader of Britain's Labour Party Ed Miliband has called for changes to legislation governing media ownership in the wake of the alleged phone hacking controversy at the News of the World.

Mr Miliband said that Rupert Murdoch had what he called an 'unhealthy' market share that led to abuses of power.

In an interview with The Observer newspaper Mr Miliband said: 'I think it is unhealthy because that amount of power in one person's hands has clearly led to abuses of power within his organisation.'

"I think that we've got to look at the situation whereby one person can own more than 20% of the newspaper market, the Sky platform and Sky News," he said.

"I think it's unhealthy because that amount of power in one person's hands has clearly led to abuses of power within his organisation.

"If you want to minimise the abuses of power then that kind of concentration of power is frankly quite dangerous."  

A police statement said Stephenson did not know of Wallis's connection with the spa, and his stay was paid for by the spa's managing director, a family friend with no links to his professional life.
