Egypt says intends to open Gaza border permanently
English: Machahir123 - Egypt intends to open its border with Gaza permanently to ease life for Palestinians under an Israeli blockade but the mechanics of such a step are still being worked out, the Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.
The initiative, received coolly in Israel, suggested a further Egyptian policy shift since the toppling of Hosni Mubarak, whose government cooperated with the Jewish state in enforcing the blockade on the Islamist Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.

Under Mubarak, Egypt only sporadically opened up the Rafah border crossing for food and medicine, or to let through people, mainly those seeking medical treatment or travelling to study from the area which is home to about 1.5 million Palestinians.

English: Machahir123 - Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi survived a NATO air strike on a Tripoli house that killed his youngest son Saif al-Arab and three young grandchildren, a government spokesman said on Sunday.
Libyan officials took journalists to the house, which had been hit by at least three missiles. The roof had completely caved in at places, leaving mangled rods of steel hanging down among splintered chunks of concrete.
"What we have now is the law of the jungle," government spokesman Mussa Ibrahim told a news conference. "We think now it is clear to everyone that what is happening in Libya has nothing to do with the protection of civilians."
The deaths have not been independently confirmed. But they would be sure to heap pressure on NATO -- which denies targeting the Gaddafi family -- from opponents of the mission who say it goes beyond its U.N. mandate to protect civilians.

'John McCain says if NATO kills Gaddafi that's 'fine

English: Machahir123  - U.S. Republican Senator John McCain on Sunday said it would be "fine" if NATO air strikes killed Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi while targeting his command centers.
His comments came after the Libyan government said Gaddafi's youngest son and three grandchildren were killed in an air strike, while the Libyan leader was unharmed.
"We should be taking out his command and control, and if he is killed or injured because of that, that's fine," McCain said on CBS' "Face the Nation."
"But we ought to have a strategy to help the rebels succeed and overthrow Gaddafi and everybody associated with him."
McCain, who visited the Libyan rebel stronghold of Benghazi last month, said he was not satisfied with President Barack Obama's handling of Libya because "we have taken a backseat role."
The United States should contribute more air power to the NATO operation, said McCain, the top Republican on the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee.
"We need to get back in the fight," he said. "A very bad outcome here would be a stalemate which would then open the door to al Qaeda," he said.
