Mexico: Gun battle kills 17 in Ciudad Juarez prison

مشاهير123- أكدت الشرطة المكسيكية يوم الثلاثاء إن 17 شخصا قتلوا في تبادل لاطلاق النار بسجن في سيوداد خواريز المدينة الاكثر عنفا في المكسيك.

وقال متحدث باسم مكتب رئيس البلدية ان ثلاثة سجناء دخلوا مجمعات الزنازين حيث كان هناك 13 سجينا اخرين في وقت متأخر يوم الاثنين وبدأت المعركة. وقتل 16 رجلا وامرأة واحدة في اعمال العنف التي تلت ذلك.

وقال كارلوس جونزاليس المتحدث باسم مكتب المدعي العام في ولاية تشيهواهوا لقناة ميلينيو التلفزيونية "كان هذا تصفية حسابات داخل السجن."

وشهدت المدينة الواقعة على الحدود مع ولاية تكساس الامريكية حرب عصابات وحشية بين عصابة خواريز المحلية وعصابة سينالوا القوية التي يتزعمها خواكين "شورتي" جوزمان رجل المخدرات الهارب الاول في المكسيك.

English: Machahir123-Seventeen people have been killed in a prison gunfight in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico's most violent city, on a day of events that underscores the fast-moving and violent nature of Mexico's deepening fight against drug gangs and lawlessness.

A journalist who had been kidnapped over the weekend was found dead Tuesday in Boca del Rio

The deadly prison riot erupted late on Monday, a day before a Washington report was released stating that firearms used in botched US undercover operations were increasingly finding their way into the hands of drug cartels.

Also on Tuesday, the body of a police beat reporter was found in the Gulf coast state of Veracruz, the second reporter from the same newspaper slain in a month.

More than 40,000 people have been killed in drug-related violence since Mexican President Felipe Calderon sent in the army to crush the cartels shortly after taking office in late 2006.
