اعلنت مصادر امنية وطبية عراقية مقتل 25 شخصا غالبيتهم من عناصر الشرطة، واصابة نحو 35 اخرين في تفجير سيارتين مفخختين في مدينة الديوانية، جنوب بغداد.
وذكر مصدر عسكري ان "الانفجارات وقعت على مقربة من جدار اسمنتي خارج منزل المحافظ، الذي تفصله مسافة نحو ثلاثين مترا عن المبنى الرئيس".
ومحافظ الديوانية من عناصر حزب الدعوة الاسلامية، الذي يتزعمه رئيس الوزراء نوري المالكي، اضافة الى كونه عضوا في قائمة "دولة القانون" التي يتزعمها المالكي.
وتم التفجيران أثناء تغيير نوبة الحراسة، وكان معظم الضحايا من أفراد الشرطة، وفقا لمسؤولين.

English: Machahir123-- Twenty-five people were killed on Tuesday and up to 34 were wounded in two car bomb explosions near the house of the provincial governor in the city of Diwaniyah, the capital of Iraq's central province of al-Qadsiyah, a provincial police source said.

"The latest reports said that 25 people were killed and some 34 others were wounded by the double car bomb blasts outside the house of al-Qadsiyah governor," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The attack occurred in the morning when two booby-trapped cars went off during a shift change of guards at the checkpoint outside the house of Salim Hussein Alwan, the governor of al-Qadsiyah province, the source said.

"Most of the victims were security guards who were gathering at the site and some other victims were residents inside the neighboring houses," the source said.

"Alwan himself escaped the attack unharmed," the source added.

Alwan's house is located in the al-Soub al-Sagheer neighborhood in central the provincial capital city of Diwaniyah, some 180 km south of Baghdad.
