خلال زيارة لمتحف ساران، رفقة هولند، خرج شيراك بتصريح مفاجئ: "سأصوّت له (هولند) إذا لم يترشّح جوبي الذّي أحبّه جيّدا"، ولم يتردّد شيراك مؤكّدا للمرّة الثانية: "يمكنني القول بأنّي سأصوّت لهولند". من جهته، حاول هذا الأخير تهدئة الجدل حول أقوال شيراك: "إنّها مزحة عابرة أطلقها شيراك لإزعاج الأصدقاء". وأضاف هولند: "لقد كنت دائما معارضا عنيدا لجاك شيراك".
